  • Seated as Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Tribal Council Chair for six years, the first female to hold the office of Chair, and has served on the Tribal Council since 1980. Other offices held on the Council were as Vice-Chair and Secretary.
  • As a participant in the restoration efforts, testified before a Congressional Hearing in 1983 which sought federal recognition of the Tribe and reservation lands.
  • Assisted in the efforts in creating a seat for the Tribe on the Legislative Commission on Indian Services in the state of Oregon.
  • Assisted the Tribe's efforts in obtaining a Gaming Compact with the state of Oregon.
  • Named one of four Women of Achievement by the YWCA in 1995. "Best known for her spirituality."
  • Recipient of the Distinguished Service Award Honoree from the League of Women Voters in 1995.
  • Recipient of the American Indian Business Leaders "The White Crown Award" for 1999. "Presented to an American Indian leader who has used their wealth of knowledge and experience to further the cause of American Indian people locally and nationally."
  • Recipient of the 1999 Women of Achievement Award from the Oregon Commission for Woman
  • Recipient of the Tom McCall 2001 Leadership Award from SOLV
  • Represented the Tribe's interest on a number of state and national organizations, including:
    • Legislative Commission on Indian Services — Vice Chair and Tribal Representative
    • Oregon Historic and Preservation Advisory Board, appointed by Governors Atiyeh and Goldschmidt.
    • Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians (ATNI) — Secretary and Tribal Alternate
    • National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) — Tribal Delegate Native American Rights Fund — Board Member
    • National Indian Health Conference, Tribal Health Representative
    • League of Women Voters — Member and Local Meeting Host
